A programme guide can contain valid titles and times without detailed descriptions. XMLTV supports optional descriptive information, and the source may supply different detail levels by channel. If the grid is accurate but the synopsis area is empty, investigate metadata coverage rather than rebuilding the entire account.
Check what the source actually includes
A player cannot display a description that was never supplied. Compare another programme on the same station and a programme on a different station. This separates a local display issue from uneven source coverage.
Keep expectations field specific
Episode numbers, cast, categories and artwork can each be absent independently. One missing field does not invalidate all other guide information. A clear support request names the missing field and an affected programme.
Avoid substituting unrelated text
Adding a generic series synopsis to every episode can make the guide look fuller while reducing accuracy. For a personal guide, use only information you can associate with the actual airing and retain its provenance.

An example to work through
A news channel may provide a title and half-hour slot while an entertainment channel provides a long synopsis. Both records can be valid guide entries.
Questions about this topic
Can I force the player to invent descriptions?
No. Additional detail must come from a suitable metadata source.
Does a blank synopsis affect stream access?
No. It is separate from video authorization.
