An empty guide on one channel usually points to that channel’s identifier, source coverage or local mapping rather than a failure of the entire XMLTV download. Use a working channel as a control and compare the affected entry’s guide key and station edition.
Separate missing data from a missing association
The XMLTV file may contain the station but the player may not map it. Alternatively, the source may have no programme records for that channel in the current date range. These situations need different corrections.
Check the right date window
A source can contain yesterday’s listings but no current entries. A successful import count does not prove that today’s schedule is present. Compare the timestamps for the affected station with the player’s displayed date.
Preserve working channels
A full guide reset can remove useful manual mappings and slow down diagnosis. Try a single-channel remap or refresh first if the player offers it. Escalate a source coverage gap with the station name and date.

An example to work through
An XMLTV source can contain channel id city.news but no programmes for it today. Repeatedly remapping that same id cannot create missing schedule records.
Questions about this topic
Does one blank channel prove the guide URL is wrong?
No. The same source can contain valid data for other channels.
Can manual mapping fix absent source data?
No. It only associates data that already exists.
