Use the parental controls actually provided by the selected player and device. Hiding a category or adding a PIN can help navigation, but no interface setting guarantees that every item is age-appropriate.
Check the available controls
- Category visibility and favourites.
- Player PIN or lock settings where available.
- Device-level account and installation restrictions.
- Whether controls persist after playlist updates or app changes.
Test the restriction
- Set a private PIN through the documented control.
- Close and reopen the player.
- Test whether the restricted area can still be reached by search or another profile.
- Review the result after an update or playlist refresh.
Keep supervision and source checks
An age label or category name can be incomplete or inaccurate. Check actual items and explain the limits of the player controls. Keep PINs and account credentials private.
