Playlist attributes are machine-readable text. Curly quotation marks inserted by a word processor or messaging editor may not be recognized as the straight quote delimiters a parser expects. The entry can then lose its group, artwork or guide key even though it looks normal to a person reading it.
Use plain text for configuration
Rich-text tools optimize typography rather than configuration syntax. They can change quotes, hyphens and spacing without making the change obvious. Copy from the original account instructions or edit through a plain-text tool that leaves punctuation untouched.
Limit the repair to delimiters
In a personal list, replace malformed attribute delimiters carefully rather than performing an uncontrolled global substitution. A legitimate apostrophe inside a channel name is not automatically a syntax error. Preserve URLs exactly as supplied.
Retest metadata and playback separately
If the repaired entry now appears in the correct group but still cannot play, the parsing repair solved only one layer. Keep that progress instead of undoing it while investigating account access or the media source.

An example to work through
The attribute group-title="News" uses straight double quotes. A formatted document may silently replace them with typographic marks that a strict reader does not accept.
Questions about this topic
Are curly quotes wrong in an article?
No. The problem is their use as machine-readable delimiters.
Can this affect only one entry?
Yes. One pasted line can differ from an otherwise valid playlist.
